Early Registration
Why should I register months out from the event

Over the years I have researched what the ICN members want, and of course, there are a number of things. However, one thing that keeps coming up regularly is that the dates are fixed a long way ahead of time so they can train for the event. The other thing that stems from that is, most people like to register a long time before the event and the reason they gave (most of the time) is that once they register, they feel that the event is 'Real' and that they are now training with a very specific target in mind.
Years ago, it was a case of an event being scheduled and you would be in the gym and find out about it, ask when it was on, someone would tell you a date 20 weeks into the future and you would say to yourself, I'm going to train for that event. It was a whim, some people made it all the way to the stage but lots of people dropped out for one reason or another. My research showed that one in three people who planned to do an event only make it to the stage. That's a 66% failure rate and it's not because of injury, it's because they never really committed to doing the contest.
When I asked them, if you would have registered, would you have gone onto the stage and they would always answer yes. After long chats with lots of people, I worked out that people like to register early because it makes them focus on the event. It makes them more accountable to themselves than if they just think about competing.
So at the ICN we did two things on our tech side, we got a full world calendar showing all the events we know about and are urging our promoters around the world to guess their long-term events up to 1 to 2 years ahead of time. Sometimes a venue contract might not be done but the date is, in that case, you might see TBA (to be advised) or a similar notation.
Once a date has been set, the promoter activates the event for registration, meaning you can register a long way out and get that psychological advantage of actually being 'In' the event, despite it being months out.
Take the Australia for example, it was activated online in January, despite it not happening until late October, so those people who have registered for it early, 'feel' they are in that show (because they are), and are training for it and counting down the days and sticking to their precise plan. It's just better this way than to 'think' it in your head.
The positive pro-action is a very useful motivational technique to help get you to the stage. So register early for your benefit and of course, it's a double-edged sword, we benefit as well because it helps us out with ordering trophies, clothing and other logistical issues.
The last thing is, you don't have to worry about if your body changes or if you get seriously injured. You have 100% control over your career, not us. You can withdraw at any time the event is open, without any penalty whatsoever. You can also edit your registration and changes divisions as your body changes. Our amazing high-tech Portal is state of the art and has taken 6 years of constant development to bring it to this level and we are far from finished, there is so much more still to come.

To plan for the Universe, these warriors took years to prepare. The earlier you register, the longer you have to achieve your dreams.
